Wanda Bass

Wanda L. Bass, chair of the Board of the First National Bank and Trust Co. of McAlester, is notable for her support of higher education through contributions, leadership, and vision. She is president of the First National Development Corp., primarily funded by her family-owned bank. Gifts include the restoration fund for the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel organ, and 105 Steinway pianos to the Margaret E. Petree College of Performing Arts with endowments for maintenance for both donations. Completion of the Wanda L. Bass Music Center at the Wanda L. Bass School of Music is scheduled for the fall of 2005. Bass was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 2003.
