Sydney A. Ewing
Sydney A. Ewing joined the faculty at Oklahoma State University in 1960 as an instructor. He received his Ph.D. from OSU in 1964, and after short stints at two other universities, he returned to OSU in 1968 as head of Veterinary Parasitology and Public Health. He left OSU briefly in 1972 to become Dean of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota, then returned to stay in 1979. In 1992, the OSU regents named him Wendell H. and Nellie G. Krull Professor of Veterinary Parasitology. In 1997 he was the first recipient of the Eminent Faculty Award at OSU, and was also named Oklahoma Veterinarian of the Year. Ewing was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 2000.
