Pamela Martin Fry
Pamela Martin Fry, a fourth-generation Oklahoman, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and master’s and doctoral degrees from Oklahoma State University.
She most recently served as president of OSU-Tulsa from 2019-2022. As OSU-Tulsa’s third president and the first female, Pamela led efforts to create a new vision and goals for the campus to realize its place as an urban research university and be a responsive community partner to Tulsa’s needs. At the time of her retirement, Fry’s presidency had resulted in increased student diversity, enrollment, graduation rates, business and community partnerships, and fiscal resources.
Prior to her presidency, Pamela served as OSU-Tulsa’s provost and vice president, as well as vice provost for the main Stillwater campus. In the vice provost role, she led undergraduate education reform, established academic services for veterans, transferred and concurrently enrolled students, and created numerous other initiatives related to student success. She previously served in a number of roles, including dean of the College of Education and head of the School of Teaching and Curriculum Leadership. During her seven years as dean, the college doubled its endowment principal, added 14 endowed faculty lines, 30% more student scholarships, and established the Watson Student Success Center. Before joining OSU, Dr. Fry served 12 years as a faculty member, program chair, and administrator at OU, earning the rank of full professor.
In 1996, Fry received a national research award from the Association of Teacher Educators in recognition of that year’s most outstanding research influencing the field. In addition, she served as the organization’s national journal editor for three years. Pamela was one of four nationally elected representatives to serve on the board of directors for the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. At the community level, Pamela chaired the United Way campaign for OSU and served on several boards, including the board of directors for the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce and the Stillwater Public Education Foundation. In recognition of Dr. Fry’s impactful leadership and service in education, Drs. Frank and Carol Morsani recently established the Pamela Fry Endowed Chair in Leadership at Oklahoma State University.
