John L. Massey

John L. Massey served multiple terms in the Oklahoma House of Representatives and the Senate. Joining the Durant Bank and Trust Company in 1966, he was appointed Chairman of the Board in 1974. He has owned and established many businesses, including banks, apartment houses, motels, and shopping centers. He donated $1,000,000 to Southeastern Oklahoma State University to establish four endowed chairs in the school of business, and has donated funds anonymously to other Oklahoma colleges. Massey currently serves on the board of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 2002 and was elected to the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 2004.
