J. Clayton Feaver
J. Clayton Feaver joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma in 1951, coming from Berea College in Kentucky. He taught philosophy to generations of OU students who overflowed his classrooms. He was best known for delivering a nonpartisan prayer at OU football games for many years. He held two distinguished professorships, Kingfisher College Professor of Philosophy and David Ross Boyd Professor of Philosophy. He directed the Scholar-Leadership Enrichment Program from 1977 to 1987.
In 1987, Feaver became Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, teaching until his death in 1995. He was inducted posthumously into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 1998.
